Electronic
Filing Options
We support electronic filing of Federal forms
1099 and W2 as well as many state forms as options for
both our Windows Lite and our
Windows Unlimited series of Quick
& Easy 1099/W2 for Windows.
These have become increasingly popular options
for our customers, particularly in view of Federal encouragement of
electronic filing for employers/payers with fewer than 250
employees/payees.
States have their own requirements for
electronic filing, of course, with some states mandating
electronic filing for as few as 25 Form W-2s. Virtually all states
now encourage electronic or magnetic filing for even the smallest filers.
| There's no question
that more electronic filing at the state level will be
required soon. Here's an example.
In Minnesota, for tax
year 2008, electronic filing of both Form W-2 and Form 1099
is required if there are more than 100 forms. By tax
year 2011, the number drops to 10 forms! |
Question: Can I get both electronic
filing AND the Black and White printing option in the same product?
Answer: Yes. Our electronic
filing versions of both Windows Lite and
Windows Unlimited include the
B/W
print option.
Question: For which states do you
support electronic and/or magnetic filing?
Answer: Here are the states for
which we currently provide electronic (or magnetic) filing of Form W-2
or Form 1099.

Question: I need to file electronically in a state not
listed above. Can you help me?
Answer: We prioritize the states
for which we add electronic filing support based on the customer requests
we receive. In
fact, due to customer requests, we've recently added support for three
more states, and still more states can be on the way if you need them -- but only if
you tell us! If you need
to file electronically in a state not listed above, we recommend
that you call our Technical Support unit
promptly and discuss your
electronic filing needs with
them. Their phone number is (860)364-0615. |
